3 Things to do on Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Ok, so it’s earth day… now what do we do to celebrate?

Here are some great ways to celebrate Earth Day with your kids!

1. Clean up Mother Earth by picking up a few pieces of garbage

Now that the snow has melted and it is officially spring you may notice a lot of garbage on the ground. Picking up even one coffee cup or plastic water bottle can go a long way. A good place to start would be a nearby beach.

2. Go on a walk or bike ride

It’s finally spring and the snow is gone. It’s time to go for walks through nature to enjoy all that our planet has to offer. If you don’t have time for forest hikes then try going on walks after dinner or a bike/scooter ride especially since the days are getting longer and warmer.

3. Plant a flower or some veggies

If you don’t have a yard you can do this in pots in your window or balcony. Grow some basil or tomatoes from seeds. Check out some fun experiments to do with your kids by scrap veggies to grow tomato plants from a slice of tomato, regrowing lettuces or green onions. Check out this video for easy to regrow veggies.

The Earth has given us so much over our life time. It’s time to give her something back. I know a day isn’t much but it’s a step in the right direction of clean and healthy living. Enjoy the day!
